Our company was founded in 2010 in Crete. Since then it has been our priority to maintain a constantly renewed fleet of cars, to accommodate our clients to the most sufficient level of safety and comfort. Age: (1) The driver must be at least twenty three years old or older, (2) or else have a valid driver’s license of two years or more.
Please note that when you place your reservation, your age or driver’s license date of issue is not required to be declared. In case that you don’t fulfill the age requirements the company has the right to refuse the delivery of the car and any deposit already paid in advance will not be returned to the customer.
There is no extra charge for new drivers over the age of 23 (1)
The maximum age limit for renting a car is 80 years
Fines & violations: all fines and administrative sanctions that result from any violation of the greek traffic laws , fall solely upon the customers and they are required to:
Pay for the said fines
Inform the company immediately
Mileage: Our company offers unlimited mileage to all of our customers
Extra driver: The second (2nd) driver is free of charge. In case of a third (3rd) driver there is an extra charge of 3€ per day.
Car replacement: In case of damage or an accident, that has resulted in the immobilization of the car, a replacement will take place within 24 hours, with another car of the same, or higher, category. The company is not obligated to replace the car in case of damage or an accident caused by negli-gence of the customer.
Road assistance: We provide customers with 24/7 free road assistance
Cancelation policy:
Cancelation within 48 hours before the delivery date: the company is obligated to return any amount paid in advance as a deposit, by the customer.
Cancelation within less than 48 hours: the company is NOT obligated to return any amount paid in advance as a deposit, by the customer.
Accidents: In case of an accident the customer MUST contact the company immediately to receive relevant instructions for further action.
Special equipment & extra services:
Children seats are provided for any age ( including: infants seats, baby seats, booster/toddler seats ).
Navigation system (GPS) is also available in more than 15 languages.
The customer is held reliable in case of damage or loss of the above items and the maximum compensation for those actions can be up to 100€.
Key loss: In case of damage or key loss the customer is charged for the repair or replacement of it. The cost can range from 80€ up to 110€, depending on the car.
Tyres damage: Non repairing Tyres are not cοvered by the insurance (if the option of tyre insurance is not chosen when making the reservation) in that case the renter will be obligated to pay the full amount for the replacement of the tyre. If the renter is able to repair the tyres our company is required to return the full amount of the repair cost.
Modern vehicles: Economy Rental Crete has a fleet of brand new and well-maintained cars.
Geographical restrictions: Delivery and drop-off of the cars can be done in any airport, port or hotel (after consultation) of Crete. Vehicles of Economy Rental Crete cannot leave Crete.
Delivery and drop off: An employee of Economy Rental Crete will be waiting for you at the Arrivals exit with a sign of your name. The whole procedure takes 5 minutes if you have the required documents ready (driving license, identification card). In case of any delay during the drop off, it is expected to let us know in time. After the First (1) hour of delay from the time mention on the contract, there's a charge of 10€ per hour. For a delay surpassing the 3 hours the charge will be the rental price of the car for the whole day.
Payment methods: We accept payments via credit, debit and prepaid cards of Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, AMERICAN EXPRESS, Diners, Discover.
Fuel policy: 1st option: return the car at the same fuel level you received it.
2nd option : You receive the car full in fuel charged accordingly and you return it with the least possible fuel level as there is no refund for the unused fuel .
Delivery and drop off: A member of Economy Rental Crete staff will be waiting for you outside of the Arrivals exit holding a sign with your name written on it.The whole procedure is very fast and efficient if you have the required documents at hand (driving license, identification card). In case of a delayed drop off, you are expected to inform the company in time. After the first (1) hour of delay from the time mentioned on the contract, there is an extra charge of 10 € per hour. For a delay surpassing 3 hours the charge will be the rental price of the car for the whole day.
Car usage: The insurance coverage applies only when the renter has agreed upon the terms and conditions of the insurance. In addition, our company is allowed to call for a compensation for any damage to the car following the terms bellow:
When the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If the car is used to tow another vehicle or heavy object.
If the car is driven off-road (e.g. Balos beach)
In case of any violation of the Greek Traffic Laws (e.g. STOP signs, speed limit, illegal U turns, illegal overtaking).
In case of any illegal parking.
In case of transportation of flammable or Illegal substances.
In case of an accident or damage to the car caused by the negligence of the renter.(e.g. dent on the hood or the roof of the car damage to the clutch.)
Car interior: In case of any damage to the interior of the car, Insurance does not cover any of the damages and the full amount is to be paid by the renter. Additionally, if the car is in need of a biological cleaning in the event of extreme dirtiness, there will be an extra charge of 80€.
